In March 2008, after a couple of year's planning, research and visits to American breeders, we at Rachanside Cattery imported some gorgeous RagaMuffin cats from Florida and Kentucky. The first five RagaMuffins were joined by four more in the ensuing months so that now we have the most amazing family of Muffins. Though these purebred, pedigreed RagaMuffins were the first in the UK, it already looks like they are going to be a very popular breed over here.
Our young adult RagaMuffins have settled really well and their coats are even more lovely in our cooler British climate. The individual cats have delighted us with their loving, gentle and funny dispositions. Those that have become parents have given us some stunning kittens and already we are beginning to see some of last year's new Muffin owners coming back for a second pet. As Janet Klarmann, past president of the RagaMuffin Associated Group says "One RagaMuffin is never enough!"

We have been thrilled to get requests for kittens from the friends and family members of people who have already adopted Rachanside RagaMuffins. What could be nicer than the kittens 'selling themselves' with their wonderful personalities!!
We've had tremendous support from the RagaMuffin Associated Group (RAG) in America and with their help I am enjoying learning new things about the breed all the time. In August 2009 I was awarded Advanced Breeder status by RAG so I am feeling quite proud to get recognition from such a professional and conscientious group of breeders. Together we hope to produce fantastic, friendly, healthy RagaMuffins for many years to come.
We are a smallish family cattery where the Mums and Kittens live in the house. That way they are all accustomed to noisy dogs and vacuum cleaners and are well socialised by the children. The indoor cats have access to an outside run where they can enjoy watching the wild birds who visit the feeders. The stud boys have to live outside, but they have clean, warm, state of the art stud pens and plenty of company. We are situated in beautiful countryside outside a quiet village in the Scottish Borders.
Rachanside Cattery is registered with ACFA and with GCCF.
Contact us on: denny_jean@yahoo.co.uk if you are interested in adopting one of our kittens. Sometimes we have young adults and retired breeding cats available too.
